A positive teacher-student relationship contributes to student motivation and promotes learning in a variety of ways. It also leads to a more fulfilling classroom experience for both the students and the instructor. Thus, what might faculty do to motivate students, to engage them more authentically and more critically in our various content areas? This workshop will focus on methods and strategies teachers can employ to build trust and motivate student interest. Particular attention will be given to caring actions that further trust and to the power of storytelling.
