Python is a very popular programming language for doing text mining and natural language processing. The Natural Langauge Toolkit (NLTK) is a very popular suite of Python modules making the process of text mining easier.

This hands-on workshop is as gentle introduction to the NLTK. It will demonstrate and facilitate the installation of a Python distribution (Anaconda), a few Python helper applications, and finally a "Jupyter notebook" demonstrating some of the functionality of the NLTK. By the end of the workshop you will have dipped your toe into the waters of Python and been exposed to the inner workings of the NLTK.
