Learning Inside Out with Portfolios in Sakai

Normally students submit papers and projects from the outside in a gated learning management system (Sakai) for a lone instructor to grade. What if there was a way to push the products of student learning from the inside out-- to publish it to peers and external audiences? This workshop will provide a guided tour of a digital learning environment to show how ePortfolios can be integrated with Sakai to make learning and skills visible outside the classroom and increase authenticity by identifying targeted external audiences. Participants will sketch a design for their digital learning environment and be able to take advantage of campus support resources.
