Generative AI is transforming how students approach writing, problem-solving, and completing assignments—posing challenges to traditional assessment but also opening doors to innovation. In this workshop, we’ll explore how to shift from a mindset of disruption to one of intentional design. Together, we’ll unpack strategies for designing assignments that align with your learning goals while accounting for AI’s capabilities. We’ll discuss how to reinforce academic integrity, encourage human creativity, and clarify expectations using tools like the Generative AI Acceptable Use Scale. Participants will leave with assignment redesign examples, guiding frameworks, and a renewed sense of agency in navigating assessment in the age of AI.
