myIDP Demo and SMART Goals Setting

One of the biggest barriers to finding a career is getting started in the process. Notre Dame’s Graduate Career Services makes use of two services to help students get started in career exploration, discernment, and personal discovery. Generally speaking, STEM students benefit from the platform My IDP while humanists, artists, social scientists, and professional master’s students benefit from the platform Imagine PhD. This workshop will offer an interactive demo of the relevant platform. Students are encouraged to bring their computers so that they can follow along on their own. After demonstrating the platform, the workshop will continue in aiding students to begin crafting short-, middle-, and long-term SMART goals. Students will leave the workshop able to navigate My IDP/Imagine Ph.D. independently and with an action plan driven by their smart goals. This will organize them well for further career development independently and in conversation with GCS.
